iPhone Screen Repair San Diego

Cracked glass, black screen, green lines or a touchscreen that taps by itself? Here's exactly what an iPhone screen repair involves, how the screen quality options differ, and how to get yours fixed near North Park in San Diego.

1-year warranty against defects on undamaged parts

Most repairs take about an hour once we start. Franchitti's Fix is home-based at 4515 Texas St, so please call or text (720) 413-8150 first and I'll confirm your screen is in stock. Want the numbers? See iPhone screen repair prices for every model.

Do You Need A New Screen Or Is It Just The Glass?

On an iPhone, the front glass is bonded to the display underneath, so they're replaced together as one screen assembly. What matters is whether the display under the glass is still healthy, because that tells you how urgent the repair is.

Glass Damage

The Picture Still Looks Normal

  • Cracks or chips, but the image is clear
  • Touch works everywhere
  • No lines, spots or flicker

Safe to use for now, but cracks spread and let in dust and moisture. A screen protector or tape keeps glass slivers off your fingers until it's fixed.

Display Damage

The Screen Itself Is Failing

  • Green, pink or white lines
  • Black ink-like spots that spread
  • Ghost touch, or dead spots that won't respond
  • Black screen while the phone still rings or vibrates

This needs a new screen. Back up your phone as soon as you can while it still works.

Not every black screen is a broken screen. A drained battery, a loose display connector after a drop or a logic board fault can look the same. I test with a known-good screen first, so you only pay for the part that's actually broken. Diagnostics are free with any repair. The iPhone Diagnostics guide covers more symptoms.

Cracked on the back instead? That's a different repair: see iPhone back glass repair. Just the camera lens cover? Often only the lens glass needs replacing: see iPhone camera repair.

Budget, Economy, Standard Or Premium: Which Screen Should You Pick?

Every screen in every tier is inspected before it goes in. Economy, Standard and Premium carry our 1-year warranty against defects on undamaged parts, and Budget screens get 30 days, defects only. The difference is how close each one gets to the screen your iPhone came with.

Lowest Price · $

Budget

A new screen at our lowest price, but lower quality than our other tiers. Runs at 90Hz on Pro models and carries a 30-day warranty, defects only. Best for trade-ins and phones you won't keep long. Offered on select models. Budget screens are ordered in for your repair. Call or text (720) 413-8150 first for timing.

Bronze · $

Economy

A solid everyday screen at a fair price. May have slightly rounder corners, wider borders and a baseline refresh rate. Best for older models, backup phones and saving money.

More about Economy

Silver · $$ · Recommended

Standard

Vibrant, dependable screens with excellent specs at an honest price. Borders may be fractionally wider than Premium. The best fit for most everyday phones.

More about Standard

Gold · $$$

Premium

The closest match to how your iPhone left the box: precise corners, the thinnest borders and full refresh rate. Best for newer models, heavy users and the longest life.

More about Premium

On newer iPhones, Standard or Economy screens may show an "Unknown Part" message in Settings. It's cosmetic and doesn't affect how the screen works. Premium screens show minimal to no part notifications. Changed your mind? Within 14 days you can upgrade to a higher tier for the price difference plus swap labor. After 14 days, an upgrade is a new repair at full price. Compare everything side by side in the Parts Quality Guide.

What Happens During An iPhone Screen Repair

  1. Quick check first. I confirm the screen is the problem and check for other damage, like a bent frame or a swollen battery, so there are no surprises.
  2. You pick your quality. You get a clear quote for each screen tier before any work starts.
  3. Careful opening. The phone is powered down, the old screen's seal is softened and the screen is lifted off without stressing the cables underneath.
  4. Your parts move over. Parts that stay with your phone, like the earpiece and Face ID sensors, are carefully moved to the new screen when the model calls for it. Face ID parts are paired to your phone, which is why they're handled with extra care.
  5. New screen and a fresh seal. The new screen is fitted and resealed.
  6. Full test. Touch across the whole screen, brightness, the front camera, the earpiece, sensors and Face ID are all tested before you get your phone back.

Is My Data Safe?

Yes. A screen replacement doesn't touch your phone's storage, so your photos, messages and apps stay exactly where they are. Nothing gets erased or reset. It's still smart to back up to iCloud or a computer before any repair if the phone works well enough to do it. Your passcode is only needed to test the phone, and you're welcome to unlock it yourself while it's tested.

How Long Does It Take?

Most repairs take about an hour once we start. Common screens are kept in stock, and other parts can usually be fast-tracked from next-day suppliers. Call or text first and I'll tell you when I can get to it.

Warranty

Every screen repair comes with a 1-year warranty against defects on undamaged parts (Budget screens: 30 days, defects only). If the screen develops a defect that isn't caused by a new drop or liquid, like dead touch areas, it's covered. New damage after the repair isn't covered: cracked glass, a cracked or bleeding LCD/OLED, lines or spots, bends or liquid.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Much Does iPhone Screen Repair Cost In San Diego?

It depends on your model and the screen quality you pick. Every model's price is posted on the iPhone screen repair prices page, parts and labor included. Call or text (720) 413-8150 to confirm.

Can You Replace Just The Cracked Glass?

On iPhones the front glass is bonded to the display, so a cracked front is fixed by replacing the whole screen assembly. Back glass and camera lens glass are separate repairs.

Will I Lose My Photos Or Data?

No. A screen replacement doesn't touch your storage, and nothing is erased or reset. Backing up first is still a good habit before any repair.

Will My Phone Say "Unknown Part" After The Repair?

On newer iPhones, Standard or Economy screens may show an "Unknown Part" message in Settings. It's cosmetic and doesn't affect performance or security. Premium screens show minimal to no part notifications.

Will Face ID Still Work After A Screen Repair?

Face ID parts are paired to your phone, so they're carefully moved over and tested before you get your phone back. If Face ID was already damaged, see iPhone Face ID repair.

How Long Does A Screen Repair Take?

Most repairs take about an hour once we start. Please call or text first so I can confirm your screen is in stock.
