Fixing My Life: From Hardship to Six-Figure Success

"I started Franchitti's Fix in the corner of a rented bedroom with little more than an idea after watching some YouTube videos and some confidence in my abilities with my experience working on electronics in the Marine Corps.

I started in July of 2019, and I only earned $700. Life threw everything at me — with Covid-19, I lost my job, struggled with addiction, and poverty — things got better slowly but surely as I acquired more skills, tools, and honed my craft.

Life always seems to give me a duality of surprises. The blessing, a baby boy on the way, and the curse, a testicular cancer diagnosis.

The cancer was difficult, involving 3 rounds of 3 different chemotherapy drugs and 2 major surgeries to address the cancer that had spread to my back, but I am alive and thankful for the VA Hospital in La Jolla for taking care of me and the love and support of my family during those times that should have been drastically happier times for all of us.

Surviving that gave me the ultimate motivation to provide and take care of my new son, Leon. I am so thankful and grateful that god allowed me another chance to redeem myself.

Today, I have been sober from alcohol and Cocaine for nearly 4 years. I am healthier and stronger than I have been in 15 years, having lost 150 pounds. I’ve grown this business from the top of a desk I found in an alley and a small dream into a six-figure repair shop, and I get to be home while I do it.

My business and electronics experience includes several years in sales and leadership experience I gained in the Marine Corps, which provided unique and impactful mentorship that shaped how I approach business and helping others succeed.

My goals have evolved beyond just repairs. I’m passionate about teaching and mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs and life-changers. I’m currently developing an extensive guide and structured mentoring program (not quite ready yet — stay tuned). In the meantime, I’m happy to have informal conversations with those who are serious about growth.

No one is perfect — not even me. But real change begins the moment you decide to take that first step. There will never be a good time or enough money, so just START. The only person who can start your journey of growth is you, and in this journey there are no shortcuts, only delays."
