What's New on Franchitti's Fix: Every Website Upgrade, and Where We're Headed
Hey, it's Steve. If you've been on the site lately, you've probably noticed it looks and works a lot differently. I've been rebuilding it piece by piece so you can figure out what's wrong, see what it costs, pay, and keep tabs on your repair without having to chase me down. This post walks through every change, area by area, with links to each new or updated page. If you just want the link list, skip to the end.
Finding Your Device
The home page now opens with Find Your Device. Instead of digging through menus, you tap your brand and go straight to its catalog:
- iPhone goes to the iPhone catalog, with every model listed.
- Samsung goes to Samsung Devices, with more detail on the Samsung Galaxy Repair page.
- Pixel goes to Google Devices and the Google Pixel Repair page.
- iPad goes to the iPad catalog, and the iPad Repair page has the details.
- Other Devices opens the full catalog.
A price box that does the looking for you. Right on the home page there's now one outlined price box. It switches between the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 15 every few seconds, and each one shows three real all-in prices (part plus installation) for that exact model, like a screen, a back panel and a camera lens. Tap a model name to stop on it. The last card, Find Your Device, stays put and links to the iPhone catalog, the price page for the model you're looking at, and all repair prices.
A cleaner home page. The lower half of the home page is shorter and easier to scan. It now goes in order: services, why customers trust us, Google reviews, ticket lookup, then the FAQ. Shop Parts and Mail-In sit side by side as two matching cards, and the repair guides got a tidier row.
The brand pages got cleaned up too, including Apple Devices, Android Phone Repair and the Device Types overview, which covers consoles, laptops, smartwatches, headphones, cameras and more. There are also dedicated pages for game console repair, Motorola repair and water damage repair.
Pricing & Parts
I post my prices because I think you should know what you're paying before you hand me your phone. I wrote about why in Why We Post Our Prices.
Parts quality tiers. Most screen repairs now come in three tiers, explained on the Parts Quality Guide:
- Economy: the lowest-cost way to get your phone working again. On many models it's an iTruColor LCD, and the price lists only say iTruColor where the part really is one.
- Standard: the middle option that's right for most people.
- Premium: the best-quality option I carry.
If you're stuck choosing, Economy vs. Standard vs. Premium Screens compares them side by side. There are also full price lists for the iTruColor LCD screens and the iTruColor Soft OLED screens, plus a price-by-model guide.
Lens repairs cost less. Camera lens glass labor went down, so a single lens repair can now come to $50 all-in, part and installation included.
New: iTruColor Screens. iTruColor LCD and Soft OLED screens now have their own collection, and the iTruColor labels are back on the price pages where they belong.
Add Part + Installation. Part pages now have an option to add installation along with the part, so you can order the part and book the labor in one step instead of figuring out installation afterward. You can browse parts in the iPhone Parts Catalog.
Prices in my store are also being synced more closely with my repair system, so the number you see online matches what's on your ticket.
Booking & Payments
Booking. You can grab a time on the Book An Appointment page or start from Start Repair. I work from home in San Diego and I'm available 10 AM to 10 PM every day, so evenings work too.
Payments. The new Payments page is one of my favorite changes. When I send you a deposit or a balance, I send you there, and it opens whichever payment app you want to use. No more back-and-forth about which app you have.
Fix Famiglia. The Fix Famiglia Loyalty Program now sits right below the top of the home page so returning customers can find it easily.
Tracking Your Repair
The new Ticket Status page lets you check on your repair yourself. Enter your ticket number and the phone number on your ticket, and you'll see where it stands. You don't have to text me and wait for an answer.
I also added guides for the questions I get most, like How We Diagnose Your Phone Before Replacing Parts, Problems After a Screen Replacement, the iPhone "Unknown Part" Message and Do I Have to Give My Passcode?.
Mail-In
If you're not in San Diego, you can still work with me. Mail-In Repair accepts devices from anywhere, including outside the US, and you cover shipping both ways. Each step has its own page:
Local Pages
I built pages for the neighborhoods around me, with directions and local details, so you know exactly how to reach me:
- North Park
- Normal Heights
- University Heights
- Hillcrest
- Kensington
- Talmadge
- City Heights
- Mission Valley
The Repair Near You blog covers nearby areas like South Park & Golden Hill. The Find Us page shows where I am. I'm home-based, so book ahead and I'll confirm the details with you. Pages for visitors staying near spots like the Gaslamp Quarter, Balboa Park and Coronado are on the way too.
Policies
The policies got cleaned up so they're clear and easy to find:
- Shipping Policy, which matters most for mail-in.
- Refund Policy
- Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
Every repair comes with a 1-year warranty against defects on undamaged parts.
About
The About page has an updated version of my story: how Franchitti's Fix started and what I care about when I work on your device. If you want to know who's fixing your phone, start there.
What's Next
Here's what I'm working on:
- More repair categories. I'll keep adding devices and repair types, with clear prices for each one.
- Robotics. Further down the road, I'm interested in robotics repair. It's early, but if you're curious, read The Hot Rod Era of Robotics.
Thanks for trusting me with your devices. If something on the site is confusing or broken, tell me and I'll fix it.
