How Mail-In Repair Works, Step By Step
Here's every step of a mail-in repair with Franchitti's Fix, from your ticket number to your device's trip home. Nothing is repaired until you approve the quote.
Step 1: Get Your Ticket Number
Call or text (720) 413-8150, or request an appointment online and mention mail-in. We'll ask for:
- Your name, phone, email and return address
- Your device brand, model and color (here's how to find your iPhone model)
- What's wrong, and whether it's been dropped or gotten wet
- Whether the battery looks swollen or the screen is lifting (if so, don't ship it)
- Your preferred part quality, if you know it (Budget, Economy, Standard or Premium)
You'll get a ticket number to put inside the box.
Step 2: Pack It Right
Power the device off. Bag it, wrap it in bubble wrap, put it in a sturdy box with about 2 inches of padding on every side, and put a note inside with your ticket number, name and phone number. Full details are on the Packing And Shipping page. Never ship a device with a swollen battery.
Step 3: Ship It To Us
You choose the carrier and pay for shipping. Use a tracked service that accepts used electronics with lithium batteries, and text us the tracking number. Insurance is your choice; we recommend it for valuable devices.

Step 4: We Check It In
When it arrives, we photograph the box, the label, the device and its IMEI or serial number. Then we text you that it's here. If there's shipping damage, you'll see it in the photos before we start.
Step 5: Diagnostic And Quote
We test the device and send you what's wrong, your part-quality options and the price for each, plus the return shipping cost. The diagnostic fee is $35, and it's credited toward the repair if we do the repair. If it can't be repaired, return shipping comes out of the $35 and we refund the rest. Timing depends on parts and shipping, so we'll give you an estimate in your quote rather than a promise.
Nothing is repaired until you approve. You can approve by text or email, and we keep a record of it.
If you decline, we send your device back as it arrived after the diagnostic fee and return shipping are paid.
If we don't hear back, we follow up by text and email. If there's no response or payment 30 days after the quote, your device is handled as described in our Mail-In Terms.
Step 6: Repair And Test
We do the repair, then test the functions that apply to your device, such as touch, display, cameras, Face ID or Touch ID, speakers, mics, charging and buttons.
Step 7: Pay And Ship Back
Payment is due after the quote or the repair, before your device ships back. Return shipping is paid by you, and you'll get the tracking number by text or email.
Step 8: Warranty
Every repair includes a 1-year warranty against defects on undamaged parts (Budget screens: 30 days, defects only). If something's wrong, call or text (720) 413-8150 and we'll work out the warranty return with you.
