Mail-In Repair Terms
These terms apply when you ship a device to Franchitti's Fix LLC for repair. They add to our Repair Services Policy. By shipping a device to us under a mail-in ticket, you agree to them. Questions? Call or text (720) 413-8150.
1. Independent Repair Provider
We are an independent repair provider and are not part of any device manufacturer's repair network. We may use new, used, refurbished or third-party parts, and you choose the part quality tier in your quote. We tell you this before any work begins, in line with California's Right to Repair Act (SB 244).
2. Ownership
You confirm that you own the device or have the owner's permission to repair it. We may ask for identification. We won't repair or return devices we believe are stolen or that are reported lost or stolen.
3. Shipping To Us
- Get a ticket number before you ship, and pack your device as our packing instructions describe.
- You pay for shipping to us and choose the carrier. Use a tracked service that allows used electronics with lithium batteries.
- Insurance is your choice, and we recommend it for valuable devices. Until we receive your package, claims for loss or damage are made with your carrier. We'll help with any records we have.
- Do not ship a device with a swollen or damaged battery. If one arrives, we'll store it safely and contact you about next steps.
4. Check-In And Condition
We photograph the package, the label and the device on arrival, and record its IMEI or serial number. Those photos are the record of the condition it arrived in. Please tell us about any existing damage or problems when you get your ticket.
5. Diagnostic And Quote
- The diagnostic fee is $35. It's credited toward the repair if we do the repair.
- If the device can't be repaired, return shipping is deducted from the $35 diagnostic fee and the rest is refunded to you.
- We send a written quote by text or email, including return shipping. No work starts until you approve it. We keep a record of your approval.
- If we find other problems during the repair, we contact you with the updated cost before going further.
6. Data
Back up your device before you ship it. Repairs, especially on liquid-damaged or failing devices, can cause data loss. We are not liable for data loss unless it's caused by our gross negligence. We don't access your personal data beyond what's needed to test the repair.
7. Payment
Payment is due after the quote or the repair, before your device ships back. If you decline the repair, the diagnostic fee and return shipping are due before we ship it back.
8. Timing
We'll give you an estimated time in your quote. Times depend on parts availability and carrier transit, and aren't guaranteed.
9. Return Shipping
- You pay for return shipping, whether the device is repaired, declined or can't be repaired. If it can't be repaired, return shipping comes out of your $35 diagnostic fee and we refund the rest. We ship with tracking to the US address on your ticket.
- Insurance on the return is your choice, and we'll add it if you ask and pay for it.
- Once the carrier accepts the return package, claims for loss or damage in transit are made with the carrier. We'll share our photos and shipping records to help.
- US addresses only.
10. No Response Or Payment
If we don't receive a response or payment 30 days after we send your quote, and we've made reasonable attempts to reach you by text, email and phone, we may return the device to the address on your ticket, or handle it as allowed under California law, including any notice the law requires. We'll always try to reach you before taking either step.
11. Warranty
1-year warranty against defects on undamaged parts (Budget screens: 30 days, defects only). The warranty doesn't cover new damage such as drops, liquid, pressure or cracks. For a warranty question, call or text (720) 413-8150 and we'll work out the return with you.
12. Your Rights
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under California law. If you believe we've violated California consumer protection laws, you may contact the California Department of Consumer Affairs (dca.ca.gov).
