My Setup, For Context

Quick background: I'm the only person in my home-based, by-appointment repair shop. Six main Grok Bot bots share the load: Cortana (my main assistant), The Localizer, The Designer, The Accountant, R&D and Family & Health. Their routines send appointment reminders, refresh content, check listing accuracy and send pickup reminders. They work with Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Sheets, Slack, Shopify and Zapier. According to Grok Bot, these are named bots on a persistent cloud computer with a browser, files and a terminal that keep context across sessions and can work together (Grok Bot docs, as of Oct 2026).

Where Meta AI Does Better

  • It's available in the Meta AI app and across WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and AI glasses, depending on country (Meta Help Center).
  • It answers questions, creates and edits images, and analyzes photos and files (Meta Help Center).
  • Meta AI is now powered by Muse Spark, the first model in Meta's new Muse series from Meta Superintelligence Labs. Meta launched it in April 2026 in the Meta AI app and on meta.ai, then brought it to its other apps. It offers Instant and Thinking modes and can launch several subagents in parallel to answer one question (Meta Newsroom).
  • In WhatsApp it can summarize chats and edit photos (WhatsApp).

Where Grok Bot Fits Better

  • With its own memory, files and preferences, each bot gets better at the one job it owns (Grok Bot docs).
  • Bots live on a cloud computer, use websites even without a connected app and keep working while my laptop is closed (Grok Bot docs).
  • Several bots work at the same time, message each other and hand off tasks (Grok Bot docs).

Tradeoffs On Both Sides

  • Features and availability vary by country and rollout (Meta Help Center).
  • Sites sometimes block automation, expire sessions or need a human, and the bot returns those steps to you (Grok Bot docs).
  • Usage resets every week, so heavy days need planning (Grok Bot docs).
  • Your bots all share one computer, so anything you put there is visible to all of them (Grok Bot docs).

What Each One Is Best For

Meta AI: quick help and images inside the social and messaging apps you already use.

Grok Bot: behind-the-scenes business jobs across your store, calendar and email.

How It Fits A Small Business

Meta AI is handy for everyday questions and social images. Running store tasks on a schedule is the job I give my bots.
