Highlights

What matters most about this model — at a glance.

Display

  • High-Brightness Wide Color Retina: The 4.7-inch Retina HD screen integrates an advanced DCI-P3 wide color gamut and pressure-sensitive 3D Touch layers, serving up incredibly sharp details alongside responsive physical menu feedback.

Battery & power

  • Battery And Charging: 1960 mAh Lithium-Ion Cell Matrix; Standard 8-Pin Lightning Power & Digital Audio Connection Port.

Camera

  • Recording Stabilized 12MP Optics: Equipped with hardware-level Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a wide f/1.8 aperture, the upgraded camera configuration processes excellent low-light details and captures crisp 4K cinematic video.

Performance & AI

  • A10 Fusion Silicon: Apple A10 Fusion Chip with 64-Bit Architecture (4-Core Configuration).

Build & thermal

  • Robust Aluminum Unibody Build: Carved cleanly out of solid 7000 Series aerospace-grade aluminum, this layout provides a rigid, highly protective outer shield that stands up remarkably well against everyday drops, impacts, and bending.
  • Capacitive Housing Button Upgrade: Moving away from the mechanical physical click buttons of older generations, the solid-state home button operates on capacitive glass technology, permanently removing a notorious wear-and-tear point.

Tech truths

Screen Compatibility: A common customer misconception about the standard iPhone 7 is that its display screen can be swapped directly with the newer iPhone 8 since both use a 4.7-inch panel. While they look identical on the outside, the top frame hooks and the layout of the motherboard display connection sockets are different. Trying to clamp an iPhone 7 display onto an iPhone 8 motherboard will permanently twist or short-circuit the fragile contact pins inside the board socket.

Water-Resistant Seal: As the first generation to feature an IP67 water-resistance rating, the iPhone 7 screen is locked to the aluminum unibody frame using a sticky, perimeter-cut liquid adhesive gasket. When opening the housing for repairs, you must swing the screen open sideways to the right. Pulling the screen directly upward like older iPhone 6 models will instantly tear the display and touch screen flex ribbons, which run horizontally.

Home Button Pairing: The home button on the iPhone 7 does not physically push down; it uses the internal Taptic Engine to simulate the sensation of a click. Because Touch ID and the main navigation lines are permanently locked to the security chip on the factory button, a major tech truth is that if this flex ribbon is nicked or torn during a repair, both Touch ID and basic return-to-home functionality fail entirely unless you install an aftermarket universal return-key modification flex.
