Green Lines on Your iPhone Screen: What Causes Them and How to Fix Them
A thin green or pink line running down your iPhone screen is one of the most common problems we see. It can show up after a drop or out of nowhere. Here's what it means and how to fix it for good.
⚡ Seeing lines on your iPhone screen?
Franchitti's Fix is at 4515 Texas St (92116), open 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM daily. Call or text (720) 413-8150, book an appointment, or send us a message.
🟩 What Causes Green Lines on an iPhone Screen
On OLED iPhones, a vertical line almost always means the display panel itself is failing. A drop, pressure in a back pocket, or moisture can damage the thin connections inside the panel. We see it often on the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Lines can also start after a past repair if the connector wasn't seated well or the replacement screen was low quality.
🔄 Will a Software Update or Restart Fix It?
It's worth a restart and a check for updates. But if the line stays on the lock screen and in screenshots it doesn't show up, the problem is hardware. A line that shows up in screenshots is a software issue; one that doesn't is the screen.
Lines tend to spread over time. An iPhone 14 Pro Max with one line today can have several next month.
We're at 4515 Texas St, on the North Park and Normal Heights border near Adams Ave, a short trip from University Heights, Kensington, and City Heights.
⚡ Stop the lines before they spread.
