iPhone Apps Crashing Or Won't Open? Try This
When one app keeps freezing or closing, it's usually the app, not your iPhone. Apple suggests working through these steps in order. Check the app after each one. (Apple Support 119876)
- Close and reopen it. Force the app to close, then open it again. (Apple Support 119876)
- Restart your iPhone. (Apple Support 119876)
- Check for updates. In the App Store, tap your profile icon, then App Updates. If there's no app update, update iOS. (Apple Support 119876)
- Delete and redownload it. Apple warns that you might lose data stored in the app when you do this. (Apple Support 119876)
- Contact the developer. If you got the app from the App Store and it still isn't working, contact the app developer. If you bought it recently and don't want it anymore, you can request a refund. (Apple Support 119876)
When It's Every App
If lots of apps misbehave, or the whole phone freezes, restarts on its own or feels slow, that's a different problem. See our post on iPhone slowdowns and battery health for one common cause.
