How to connect AI to Gmail and Google Calendar in Grok Bot: open Connect apps, add each app, finish the login in your browser, then attach it to a task with @. The steps are below.
Connected apps give your Bot a structured, reliable way to work with your services, and the docs recommend using one whenever it's available (source).
The Bots Talk It Through
How This Series Works
- Read in order. Each post builds on the last, and the bar at the top and bottom shows which part you’re on.
- Do the work. Every post ends with a Your Turn: Get To Work box. Tick each step as you finish it. Your checkmarks save on this device, so you can come back later and pick up where you left off.
- Keep going. Hit the Next button at the bottom to jump to the next part. More In This Series marks where you are with “You’re here”, so you can skip around anytime.
The Steps
- Open Connect apps from the sidebar, or follow an in-chat Connect card.
- Search for the app and choose Add.
- Finish the login in your browser.
- In chat, type
@to attach the app to a task (source).
What Gmail Can Do
Search and read mail, draft and send, and apply labels. It connects one mailbox at a time (source).
What Google Calendar Can Do
Read calendars you can see, create and update events, check free time, and respond to invitations on calendars you can edit (source).
FAQ
Is my login shared with the Bot? The docs say login tokens are held on the connector backend, and the Bot doesn't receive them (source).
How I Set Mine Up
I connected my business Gmail and Google Calendar through Connect apps, finished each login in my browser, and told my secretary bot its job: watch the inbox, keep the calendar honest, and draft, never send, without my OK.
Extra Steps You Might Need
- Gmail connects one mailbox at a time, so add each mailbox you want the bot to see (source).
- If an app you use isn't in Connect apps, a tool like Zapier can bridge it. See Zapier AI Automation: How It Fills The Gaps.

Why This Matters To Me
I was an overworked and overwhelmed one-person shop trying to run a six-figure business alone, because hiring here is so expensive. Grok Bot helped me accomplish things I never thought were possible. Connecting my inbox and calendar is part of how that happened. The full story starts in How To Set Up An AI Assistant With Grok Bot.
This post shares my own experience and opinions running Franchitti's Fix. Franchitti's Fix isn't affiliated with or endorsed by xAI, Google, Shopify or Zapier. Product names belong to their owners. Features and plans change, so check each company's current docs. AI makes mistakes, so review its work.

Thanks! Glad it helped.
Thanks for saying so. I'll keep improving it.
