iPhone How-To Guide • Buttons

Camera popping open by itself? The Camera Control button on newer iPhones is easy to press by accident. You can change it in a minute.

Works on: iPhones with Camera Control, the flat button low on the right side: iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max and newer models that have it. iPhone 16e and 17e don't have it.

Option 1: Require A Double Click

  1. Open Settings and tap Camera.
  2. Tap Camera Control.
  3. Choose Double Click.

Option 2: Turn It Off

  1. Open Settings and tap Accessibility.
  2. Tap Camera Control.
  3. Turn off Camera Control.

Still opening after it's off? Your case may be pressing the side button or the screen. Try without the case. If it keeps happening, call or text me.
